Engineer Training Case Study

Mahindra & Mahindra – Chennai, India

Pro2 was asked to deliver a focussed engineer training programme to a team of 12 engineers from a variety of roles at Indian automotive manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M). The course was designed to set a benchmark for development driving, to provide driver confidence and consistency when driving at or near the limit and to introduce techniques that would enable the engineers to perform a consistent assessment of a vehicle.

The course was run over two weeks at a combination of a test track and race circuit.
Pro2 designed the course to the customer’s requirements. First, we devised a standardised approach to be taken by a test driver as well as giving confidence in handling at the limit so that assessments could cover all aspects of the vehicle’s performance. We then introduced subjective assessment, using the manufacturer’s own criteria to make it relevant. To test the effectiveness of the training we ran a test assessment of a number of vehicles with known handling/assessment flaws, such as a loosened anti roll bar.

At the end of the course we provided a report to the manufacturer with detailed feedback on each candidate so that it could be incorporated into a personal development plan.

Pro2 provided driver training here in India and were very professional. The course was very well received due to their professional approach, great character and thorough knowledge of the job. We will be using their services again. The feedback is all positive and puts us in good position for lots of follow up.
